How comforting the presence of another human being can be”.– Suzanne Collins Companioning It is important that you understand that I do not replace hospice work or palliative care but rather, I can complement those incredibly valuable services. I only provide this service for your terminally ill loved ones. No one should ever experience a terminal illness alone and I understand that family often have other responsibilities and external demands on their time that may not allow them visit as often as they would like. My companion service will provide comfort and companionship when you can’t be there. This can be ongoing or a respite arrangement depending on your family’s needs and availability. Service Description Companionship includes soft music, reading, candles or aromatherapy of their choice to create a quiet healing space while being fully present in communication and responsive to the needs of your loved one.The service will include ensuring your loved one is well taken care of during my visits. I am happy to run small errands and assist with any basic tasks that will aide their personal comfort and general wellbeing. Regular updates to the family, (with their permission only) and I will be contactable at any time while I am present in the home.Liaison with the family and medical professionals to report any changes and advocate for any additional needs including pain management if required. (Informed Consent Required to Share Information). Total Cost Occasional Companioning Visits (2 Hour Minimum per visit) $250Additional Hours $100 per hour. Regular Companion Visits (Visits totalling 10 hours or more) can be offered at a reduced service cost and are pre-paid at $75 per hour (2 hour minimum per visit applies) Please note: For in-person home visits 30kms return travel is included. Additional fees may apply if further travel is required, this will be discussed at the time of service enquiry or bookings.
